In this second edition of Bob Gooch’s Virginia Fishing Guide, M. W. Smith offers an updated version of a classic work of Virginia outdoor literature. Providing a new preface and appendices, Smith also recasts the volume’s introduction and site listings to reflect such changes as new "catch and release only" designations and stocking schedules (for trout streams). This edition features a fresh design with new maps and photographs.

Reviews:

"If it swims in the waters of his home state, award-winning outdoor writer Bob Gooch tells you where to find it, what it will eat, and how big it will grow in this comprehensive look at fishing in Virginia.... If you’re fishing Virginia for the first time, this book will get you pointed in the right direction."

Salt Water Sportsman

"Until now, no book covered the state’s major fishing waters from the mountains of Southwest Virginia to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.... Anglers who want to fish water they aren’t familiar with sing [Gooch’s] praises, because the Virginia Fishing Guide is the road map to both the obscure and the best-known places to fish in the Old Dominion.... A book that should be on the car seat of every Virginia angler."
